Role overview

The Deputy Project Manager will oversee the finance, procurement and HR side of the English for Afghans project in order to support effective planning & forecasting, and monitoring of budgets. The post will actively support the Project Manager to oversee and ensure efficient and accurate financial control, contract monitoring and compliance, procurement process, and HR management. This will allow for effective reporting of the day to day financial/HR processes of the programme in terms of adherence and compliance with all procedures, policies and systems as per British Council’s standards set out in Essential Finance and HR – both internally within the team and externally with the local partner(s), English master trainers, suppliers, consultants and education institutions. The Deputy Project Manager delivers efficient, effective and responsive advice to all customers - internal and external across the project and needs to ensure all English Master Trainers, consultants, local partners and supplier  payments are executed accurately and on time.
